These beautiful sterling silver earrings were handcrafted by Navajo S artist using genuine Boulder turquoise stones set into smooth sterling silver bezels. They are approximately 1.5”L x 0.75”W. Hook style earrings. These earrings are stamped and singed by the artist.
Boulder turquoise hails from the Boulder turquoise mine of northeast Nevada. It is also known as "Royston Ribbon" because it is known for its ribbons of turquoise within the host rock. It was first discovered in the 1970's by a local sheep herder that saw the blue color on the side of a mountain, and has been mined ever since. It is rare to find large sections of boulder turquoise and is hard to mine in the winter condition, therefore boulder turquoise is highly valuable.
