This beautiful sterling silver pendent was handcrafted by Navajo artist Alice McShirley using genuine turquoise from the #8 mine, which is hard to come by. The stones are pieced together using a cobblestone design and set into a smooth sterling silver bezel. The pendent also features lovely hand saw cut designs around the edges and is adorned with appliqued sterling silver dots. The pendent is approximately 2.25" L x 1.25" W, and the bail can accommodate a necklace that is approximately 0.25" W. The pendent is stamped and signed by the artist.

The #8 mine is located in Carlin, Nevada and is known to have produced some of the highest quality turquoise. It has also produced some of the biggest nuggets ever discovered and is known for its brown or black spider-web like matrix. This mine was only open for turquoise mining for a very short time, which makes it very valuable and sought after. The #8 mine is currently only open for gold mining.
