This lovely sterling silver ring was handcrafted by Navajo artist Myron Etsitty using genuine lapis stones. The stone is set in a smooth sterling silver bezel with adornments of twisted silver on the edges. The ring is approximately 2" L x 1.25" at the widest point tapering down to 0.25". The band of the ring is approximately 0.25" W and fits a size 7 finger. The ring is signed by the artist and stamped.
Lapis lazuli has been used since ancient times and remains popular, denoted for its deep blue color and high quality. Some stones can contain a matrix of calcite and pyrite, which can make the stone appear lighter or have more greyish tones. Lapis can range from very deep royal blue all the way to a lighter almost baby blue (known as denim lapis). Most of the lapis used today originates from Asia or the Middle East.
