This lovely sterling silver pendent was handcrafted by a Navajo artist using a genuine piece of gaspeite. This large stone is set into a smooth sterling silver bezel and the pendent is adorned with twisted sterling silver rope and hand saw cut designs around the edges. The pendent is approximately 2.5" L x 1.5" W and the bail can accommodate a necklace that is approximately 0.25" W. This pendent is stamped.
Gaspeite was first discovered in 1977 in Quebac, Canada. It is only found in a handful of places all over the world including New Mexico. The stone is used in many traditions of the Australian Aboriginal people and is said to have many healing abilities.
